About us
40 years in the industry
With over 40 years in the fruit and vegetable industry, The Heritage Fine Food Company are a SALSA certified business based in the heart of Wiltshire.
Ken started as a grower in Bromham when he was 20 years old, eventually opening 37 greengrocery shops with his brother Neil. The shops all closed in the 1990s as food shopping moved to out-of-town supermarkets. At this point Ken moved into wholesale supplying restaurants, cafes, care homes and schools. In 2005 the 5adaybox home veg box delivery service was born.
We are a very family focussed business and care incredibly for our staff and our community.
Locally Sourced wherever possible
We have a fantastic relationship with local growers, farmers, artisans and suppliers, giving us a varied supply of seasonal and fresh produce throughout the year.
Wherever possible we will source something from the South West or the UK, supporting local producers is extremely important to us. When we are forced to look further afield, we like to make sure we know that what we are buying is great quality and is grown in a socially and environmentally friendly way.
All our set boxes take advantage of local and seasonal produce and contents will vary each week. As longstanding suppliers to the catering trade we know what’s in season and can supply it at competitive prices.
A large percentage of our fresh vegetables are sourced and supplied from Mr Paget in Bromham, a childhood friend of Ken’s. The soils at Bromham are world renowned for their unique mineral properties and their ability to produce an early crop.
Our meat is sourced directly from the farm where we are based at Lowerfields farm in Coate.
We also work with a local, independent fishmonger - the fresh fish is sourced from ports and day boats across the UK and is delivered daily. They only use reputable suppliers who have been fully audited and fully understand the importance of sustainability and have procedures in place to help to protect our fisheries and fishermen throughout the UK.
And of course, not forgetting our local artisans - from honey produced down the road to handmade chocolates, locally craft brewed beers and cheese we are always keen to showcase and sell local.
First class customer service
We pride ourselves in our first-class customer services and will always go above and beyond for our customers, if we’ve made a mistake we will endeavour to correct it as soon as we can. It’s so much more than selling for us, we really do like to get to know our customers and develop that two-way relationship.
All our deliveries are FREE. Customers can usually choose a delivery date within 2 days of placing an order.
We also offer a click and collect service, this is a simple and straight forward process – place your order with the date, time and car reg for pick up, reverse into a loading bay, hoot your horn and a member of staff will come out and place your shopping in the boot of your car.
Sustainability
From farm to form we work hard to be as sustainable as we can be by reducing, reusing, repurposing and recycling wherever possible. We are constantly reviewing and introducing efficient working practices. We work hard to minimise packaging. We also look closely at the suppliers we work with to align sustainable practices as much as possible. We work closely with Grist Environmental Waste Solutions to ensure that we avoid as much as we can from going into landfill. You can find out more about our sustainability steps here.
Proud to Partner with Marco Pierre White
At the end of 2020 we started working closely with Marco Pierre White and now supply a large number of his restaurants across the South West, as well as his very own hotel/restaurant The Rudloe Arms, based in Corsham. In February 2021 Marco filmed further BBC Maestro episodes and our produce was used. It is a testament to Heritage Fine Foods that he uses our produce and personally recommends us.
